The University's IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Cell was established in 2024. This Cell took a transformative step toward strengthening a culture of innovation and safeguarding the intellectual contributions of faculty members, researchers, and students. Its mission is not limited merely to legal protection; rather, it strives to create an environment where original ideas are encouraged, protected, and transformed into tangible social and industrial impact.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Awareness and Outreach Initiatives<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

  • The IPR Cell has successfully organized over 15 workshops, which have proven beneficial for students, researchers, and faculty members on a monthly basis. During these sessions, the IPR Cell invited renowned experts from the JT Attorney Alliance\u2014including Dr. Jignesh Mangalpara and Mr. Tushar Kumar Srivastava\u2014who guided participants on patent filing, trademark registration, and other critical aspects of IPR. The contribution of Dr. Divyansh Shukla, the In-charge of the IPR Cell, was pivotal and integral to the successful organization and execution of these workshops.

    <\/li>
  • Specialized workshops\u2014such as those held in the Department of Fine Arts on August 24, 2024, and September 21, 2024\u2014demonstrated how creative works, such as original designs, can also be registered and protected. Such targeted initiatives have extended IPR awareness beyond traditional science and technology disciplines to encompass the fields of arts, design, and humanities.

  • The IPR Cell organized an ‘Ideathon’ on April 26, 2025, to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day. Students and faculty members from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University and its affiliated colleges participated enthusiastically in this event. Participants presented innovative ideas before an expert jury, and the most outstanding contributions were honored with awards. Concurrently, a Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized to train faculty members from affiliated colleges, enabling them to guide students and foster a culture of innovation-driven education.

  • Furthermore, various workshops, seminars, and awareness programs are being organized periodically under the guidance of experts to continuously strengthen awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students, researchers, and faculty members.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Increase in Patent Filings<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    Over the past three years, the university has demonstrated tremendous progress in the fields of innovation, research, and intellectual property development. To date, the institute has successfully filed a total of 356 patent applications and 69 design applications, reflecting its robust and rapidly growing research culture.

    Of these, 45 design applications have already been granted approval, underscoring the quality and practical relevance of the innovations developed within the university's ecosystem. This significant achievement highlights the institute's sustained efforts to foster creativity, technology-based solutions, and applied research.

    The increasing number of filings signifies the active participation of faculty members, researchers, and students in innovation-driven activities. It also demonstrates the university's commitment to translating academic ideas into impactful intellectual assets. Such achievements reinforce the university's standing as an emerging hub of excellence in research and innovation. Moreover, these results contribute to creating an innovation-centric ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship and industry collaboration.
